Cascades participate in Mount Royal tournament.

The UFV Cascades women’s volleyball team traveled to Calgary, Alberta to participate in the Mount Royal University women’s volleyball invitational.  The Cascades lost both round robin matches to the University of Calgary Dinos Alumni team, 2 -0 and Lethbridge College, 2-0.

The tournament games were best of 3 sets, instead of the regular season best of 5 sets.

In the consolation round UFV defeated Briercrest College (Caronport, SK), 2-0, to advance to the face SAIT (Calgary, AB) who they defeated 3-0 (25-14, 25-18 and 25-19) to earn third place in the weekend event.  (The Bronze Medal match was best of 5 sets).
“Spirits were high and the team came out a lot more focused to execute our game plan against Briercrest. This resulted in a very strong performance which we are hoping is a building block to playing another strong match against SAIT,” said UFV Head Coach Dennis Bokenfohr.
