The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades fell to the Trinity Western University Spartans, 114-89, to close out the fall semester with a 4-8 Canada West regular season record. The first have was very exciting entertaining basketball as UFV kept up with the number 7 ranked Spartans. The lead changed hands several times in the first quarter as both teams played to a 21 all tie. In the second, the Cascades competed with TWU and led twice during the later stages of the quarter, before TWU went on a six-point run to take a two point lead into the half.

Joel Friesen, Abbotsford, BC led the Cascades at the half with 14-points.
The third quarter was the Cascades undoing, as TWU scored 39-points to explode to a 18-point advantage after the third stanza. While UFV continued to compete they were fighting TWU history as there fifth year veteran Jacob Doerksen, Abbotsford, BC scored a school record 42-points against UFV tonight. In the fourth quarter, UFV continued to play hard but they just could not make a dent in the 19-point deficit.
The Cascades were led by Sam Freeman, Coquitlam, BC with 32-points. Friesen added 22-points in the loss while Freeman and James Elliott, Perth, West Australia each pulled down 6-rebounds.
