The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades are pleased to welcome to the varsity family the Cheerleading squad that will be headed by Co Coaches Kaitlyn Yates, Surrey, BC and Brooke Ostendorf, Abbotsford, BC. The newly formed Cheerleading squad will entertain the Envision Athletic Centre crowds at Men’s and Women’s Varsity Basketball games and compete in two regional Cheerleading competitions in British Columbia this coming school year.
The Coed Cheerleading team open tryouts will commence on Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 at the Valley Stars Athletics Gym http://www.valleystars.com/index.phplocated at 33800 King Road, in Abbotsford, practice/tryout will start at 4:30PM.All UFV students interested in trying out can go to Valley Stars Athletics Gym or contact UFV Athletics through david.kent@ufv.ca until the Cheerleading email address is uploading on their web site page http://www.ufv.ca/Athletics/VarsityTeams/Varsity_Cheerleading.htm
The Cheerleading team will practice each Wednesday, 4:30PM to 6:30PM, at the Valley Stars Athletics Gym.
