McMaster Marauders defeat UFV Cascades, 82-73, in Hamilton, Ontario.

The UFV Cascades fell to McMaster University Marauders (OUA West), 82-73, to conclude their three-game road trip to Southern Ontario.  The Cascades non-conference exhibition record stands at 5-3 after the trip.

The Marauders jumped out to a quick lead and led by 12-points, 44-32, at the half.  In the second half, the Cascades came back and lower their deficit to 4-points early in the fourth quarter before the Marauders hit a couple key baskets to hold on for the 9-point victory.

Joel Friesen, Abbotsford, BC led UFV with a team high 18-point performance.  James Elliott, Perth, Western Australia, added 16-points.  Friesen led the Cascades with 10-total rebounds as UFV pulled down 42-boards for the game.

The Cascades return home to face CBC on Thursday (October 14) and Laurentian University Voyageurs (OUA East) on Saturday (October 16) at Envision Athletic Centre.
