Biagioni & Mora Perea Abbotsford Heat/UFV Cascades Athletes of the Week

The third year veteran goalkeeper, Chantelle Biagioni, Pitt Meadows, BC, led the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades to two CWUAA regular season women’s soccer victories over Nationally Ranked UBC, 2-0, on Saturday (October 2nd) and Sunday (October 3rd) over TWU, 2-1.

Biagioni, an Arts Studies major, from Pitt Meadows, BC was the anchor for a defense that allowed only one goal all weekend in moving the UFV Cascades back to the five hundred mark at 3-3-0 for 9 points.  She lowered her CWUAA Regular season Goals Against Average for the year to 1.00 and recorded 16 saves in the weekend sweep of UBC and TWU. Biagioni was named “Player of the Match” in the victory over TWU, on Sunday.

Juan Pablo Mora Perea, a first year Kinesiology major, from Morelia, Mexico, scored one goal on a penalty kick and set up a second goal in the UFV Cascades loss to the University of Victoria Vikes, 3-2, on Sunday.  Mora Perea, leads the Cascades with 3 goals scored and on 7 shots, in the 7 CWUAA regular season matches.
