The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades Women’s Soccer team fell 1-0 to the Western Washington University Vikings, in Bellingham, Washington.  The loss drops UFV’s exhibition record to 1-1-0.

The game was evenly played in the first half with both teams having several opportunties to score the match’s first goal.  The Cascades Chantelle Biagioni, Pitt Meadows, BC made several key stops on Viking shooters to perserve the scoreless halftime draw.

In the second half, Western Washington scored three minutes in for the match’s lone goal.  Despite several breakaways the Cascades were not able to solve the Vikings goalkeeper.

“It was a good test for our young team against a good university program,” said Head Coach Rob Giesbrecht.  “This match will help us prepare for this weekend’s TRU tournament.”
