The UFV Cascades Varsity Golf team will represent Canada at the 2010 Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship, to be held August 24 to 27, at the Sunrise Golf & Country Club, in Taipei, Taiwan. The Course is a Robert Trent Jones jr. design. The event is a two-man team event. The Cascades will be represented by Brett Stewart, a 4th year General studies major, from Abbotsford, BC and Mitch Lock, a 3rd year general studies major from Mission, BC.
The UFV’s Golf Head Coach Chris Bertram is pleased to see two senior members of the Cascade program representing not only the school but the country. “It is a privilege to be asked to represent the province, and I am confident Brett and Mitch are going to compete well at this level. Both guys are former Cascades Most Valuable Players and have a wealth of tournament experience and will be ready to go when the time comes,” said Bertram.
The Men’s Team Event will be held in conjunction with the first two rounds of the Championship. The combined gross scores of the two team members for the first two rounds will determine the team champion.
