Cascade women complete the weekend sweep

Abbotsford, B.C.—Playing in their last home game of the season, the University of the Fraser Valley women’s volleyball team did it with style. The Cascades had not been defeated at home this season, and this did not change as they completed the weekend sweep.

It was a complete team effort with all 11 women getting on the court chipping in for the 3-0 win; 25-18, 25-11 and 25-21.

Coming into the game each team are at opposite ends of the standings. Selkirk is wrapping up their season with just one match left to go. The Cascades are continuing to build looking forward to next weekend against #1 ranked UBCO and then provincials.

Next weekend’s schedule is very exciting for the BCCAA, as the top four teams in the league are competing against one another. #2 Capilano University vs. #3 Vancouver Island University and #3 University of the Fraser Valley vs. #1 University of British Columbia Okanagan. This has playoff implications written all over them, as teams jostle for playoff spots.
